| Leonard D. Weiler Leonard D. Weiler has been in the private practice of law since his
admission to the California State Bar in 1976. He is certified as a Family Law
Specialist by the State Bars Board of Legal Specialization, a designation requiring
extensive trial and other experience, demonstrated knowledge of family law, and a solid
reputation. A graduate of Colgate University, he received his Doctor of Law degree
with honors from Golden Gate University in 1976, where he served as Executive Editor of
the Law Review.
A member of the Alameda County and Contra
Costa County Bar Associations as well as the California State Bar,
the professional peer recognition of Mr. Weilers family law
expertise has been reflected in numerous leadership positions, including
President of the Contra Costa County Bar Association Family Law
Section (1997), President of the statewide Association
of Certified Family Law Specialists (1998), as well as founder
and past chair of the Bay Areas Family Law Inter-County Council. As
a delegate to the Family Law Council Of Community Property States,
he has presented California's topic paper in 1999 (Donor's Remorse:
When A Gift Is Not A Gift: Recovery Of Contributions Of Property
During Marriage) and 2002 (Matrimonial Agreements In California:
Requirements For Validity). He was selected and participated for
several years as a delegate to the annual state bar conference of
delegates.
Mr. Weiler serves regularly as a Judge Pro Tem in the family law
departments of the Alameda County and Contra Costa County Superior Courts. He has
also been selected as an attorney fee arbitrator for both the Alameda County and Contra
Costa County Bar Associations.
He and his attorney wife, Alice, reside
in Oakland and have two children.

Thomas G. Borst
A native of the Bay Area, Thomas G. Borst was admitted to the
California State Bar in 1988. He received his B.A. Degree in German from the
University of California at Berkeley and graduated with Honors from Golden Gate University
School of Law in 1988. Like Mr. Weiler, Mr. Borst served as an editor of the Law
Review.
Mr. Borst is a member of the Alameda County,
Eastern Alameda County and Contra Costa County Bar Associations,
as well as the State Bar of California. Mr Borst is past President
(1999) of the EACBA where he has served on the Board of Directors
since 1995 and on the Lawyer Referral Service Committee for several
years. He is also a member of the Family Law and Estate Planning
Sections of the Alameda and Contra Costa County Bar Associates,
and the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section of the State
Bar. He regularly serves as an attorneys fee arbitrator for
the Alameda County and Contra Costa County Bar Associations.
The bulk of Mr. Borsts practice is devoted to family law,
where he has achieved considerable success for both men and women clients in negotiating
settlement agreements and in litigation.
In addition to family law practice, Mr. Borst concentrates on
estate planning, expertise that proves beneficial to clients both in the process of, or
following dissolution, as well as individuals and couples of significant net worth seeking
to arrange their affairs to minimize tax implications.
